INTEL has to be accelerating with Google in an effort to enter the smartphone market.
Intel are working together with Google's Android operating system to optimize for the Atom processor.
Chip maker is hoping for additional smartphones, as well as servers based on the technology in the near future.
Currently only a handful of mobile phones running on Intel chips. To fully into the market, Intel will have low-power chips to be developed.
Intel CEO Paul Otellini and senior vice president of Google's Andy Rubin announced mobile partnerships in Intel's annual technology forum in San Francisco yesterday.
Otellini said Intel's first smartphone comes online in 2012, reports the Wall Street Journal.
"Every time cooperate to come out when we work with Google, good things," he said. "I am happy and have high expectations for this too."
